kat the busker.

I know, I know, I've been totally MIA. But do you really blame me?? The sun has come out almost EVERY DAY here! After the winter that never ended, I'm happy as a clam! I've been spending my days in this sweet sunshine. I love it.

And, I've got some exciting news: I'M A BUSKER!

Cue the balloons & confetti!

Woah, Kat, what's a busker?

My MacBook dictionary says this:

busk 1 |bəsk|verb [ intrans. ]play music or otherwise perform for voluntary donations in the street or in subways the group began by busking on Philadelphia sidewalks [as n. (busking) busking was a real means of living.• ( busk it) informal improvise.
Okay, okay. But why are you doing it?

Well, I'm struggling to find auditions, or I've missed a few, and I was starting to develop "Audition Fright". I didn't like it. But I've been taking some voice lessons, with a wonderful local teacher, and working on re-building my confidence. The beauty of busking is that I feel like background music to their busy lives. Like, imagine that elevator music, that's me!

I must say, the British people are absolutely wonderful! A couple gave me a round of applause; another couple stood and listened; and this one guy even gave me £10! [about $16]. I would've been happy with a smile, but I am so grateful for every penny!

Thank you so much!
