a homemade christmas.

I just love the way that red pops! Is anyone else super excited for Christmas?? ONE MONTH MY FRIENDS! OOOOOONE MONTH!! Wait, less than one month! Haha.

So, John and I are those people. You know those people that make their Christmas gifts? Yep. We're them. There's something about giving homemade gifts that makes me really happy though. I don't know what it is. A sense of pride, I suppose, that we made it ourselves. Kind of like, artisan bread. Oooh yumm. Artisan bread. My stomach is gurgling at the thought!

Oo baby! These little cranberries combined with some bananas and lots of sugar make for a delicious Christmas jam! (By the way, I totally have a picture of bananas, but I'll save it for something random. Like, when you're saying to yourself, "Gee, I could sure use a picture of some bananas right about now. Oh! I know, Kat has one on her blog!" You laugh, but one day, you're going to come back just to look at a picture of some bananas. Bwa-ha-ha-ha.)

In addition to our annual cranberry-banana jam, we're adding homemade vanilla! Yeah, I didn't realize it could be homemade too! Imagine MY surprise when I came across it on pinterest while searching for something else, of course.

So, we're only trying out 6 bottles of the stuff and keeping one for ourselves, as a tester of course. I'll be sharing the recipe for the cranberry-banana jam, or as Momma Simchik calls it, "Cranana Jam", later this week. As for the homemade vanilla it's just a vanilla pods + vodka + a bottle + sitting in darkness for 8 weeks = HOMEMADE VANILLA! Not entirely sure what it's like, but reviews on other blogs say it's amazing. I'm pretty excited.

On another note, we're finally moving in to our new flat on Monday. [Praise God!] I'm SO excited. First thing on my list? Baking some chocolate chip cookies! Yum-my. And walking around in my towel, doing my nails, and singing along to my favorite tunes! Oo, oo, OO! I cannot wait.

Until then!
